Searchkit (searchkit.co) was born out of the frustrations of building complex search user interfaces. We wanted to make the best features of Elasticsearch easily accessible to everyone, without having the need to be a search expert. We wanted to make it really quick for developers to build cool interfaces and most importantly, to improve experiences for their users.

Since we publicly released Searchkit on New Year’s Day, we have been overwhelmed with the attention it has attracted. We had over 4000 visitors in one day from all over the world and soon, it was trending on Github. We were (and, still are!) super excited by how the community has responded.

Till now, we have been working very hard on improving our documentation and our infrastructure to help support this growing community. We now have a chatroom, a hosted Elasticsearch server provided by the good guys as Qbox and a growing documentation site.

Introducing 0.3

Today, we released version 0.3 which has over 170 commits of new features and improvements leveraging some really cool Elasticsearch tech.

We are really excited about Hierarchical filtering component which leverages on ES aggregations on Nested documents, No Hits component which uses the ES suggestions API and highlighting!

Hierarchical Filtering Component
Hit in context Highlighting
No Hits suggestions

If you have any ideas on how to improve Searchkit, we would love to hear from you! You can reach us on Github, glitter or email through our company, hello@teneleven.co.uk.
